Thepla is a soft spiced flatbread from Gujarat made by mixing whole wheat flour with gram flour, chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt, yogurt, and a little oil, then adding water to knead a soft dough. After resting the dough for a few minutes, small portions are rolled into thin circles and cooked on a hot pan with a little oil until both sides are golden and lightly crisp. Thepla is best served warm with pickle, curd, or chutney and is popular as a travel-friendly snack.
